FEAR...
Fear is an overwhelming and debilitating emotion that has the ability to hold you back from achieving your potential and prevent you from achieving your goals. When we give in to fears, eventually they can take control of our lives. These fears are perceived and presumed they are not realised or manifested. They sit in the future, or were born in the past, but they very rarely exist in the present. So how do we navigate these real feelings so we don’t hold ourselves back and miss out on amazing opportunities in life.
Fears control taking action, dreaming big, they cause doubt, they squash our confidence, cause procrastination, reduce our efficiency, challenge our self worth, lead us to question our ability to succeed and to perform and they steel away valuable time from our lives.
We all have fears, for different reasons and at different times. People who seem to always be successful and achieving amazing goals are not without fears, but they do know how to harness those fears and use them to fuel and motivate their actions by feeling the fear but doing it anyway.
Every fear we have has a route cause. We’ve been there before and it didn’t go well, the outcome would be disastrous for us, the guilt, shame, embarrassment, humiliation, failure, pain, suffering that might occur causes a real feeling as though this fear is coming true right now.
That feeling is created by our state of mind. The thoughts and words in our head.
There are many ways to break these fears down. We can face them without thought and throw ourselves into the action, embrace the feeling of adrenalin and hope for a great outcome. We can cognitively rationalise that the future hasn’t happened yet and so any outcome is in fact possible and its equally as likely to be the one we want it to be. Or we can rewire the neurological pattern in our mind that caused the existence of the fear in the first place. Any of these are ok and all of them work. But by rewiring our mental pathways, we can be sure to remove fear permanently and not be held back and restricted by the futile, time consuming and punishing thoughts and worries in our head.
Make a list of your dreams and goals and a corresponding list of the fears that are stopping you from getting there. For each fear identify the single event or the original cause of that fear and the worse case scenario outcome you feel threatened by. Once you know your link and trigger you can apply a multitude of neurological reprogramming techniques to stop these from ever affecting you again.
These are not real, by definition they are thoughts of what might become - in the future, they do not exist in this moment.
You are SO much more than you realise. You are FOR so much more. You can DO so much more.
